Aon’s HappyTails: @lexyethegolden

JaneApril 28, 2025~ 2 mins read

Lexye See is a 4 year old furbaby who joined the family during COVID. When I first got her at 5 months old, she was shaking like a leaf as she had never taken a car ride before. She has grown so much into her personality where she has so much love for beach walks, balloon bouncing with her snout, swimming and cuddles for anyone. Besides being a ball of energy and a kitchen supervisor, she enjoys snoozing and belly rubs.

Q: How do you care for the wellness of your pet, especially if they are prone to any hereditary illness?

As a golden retriever, they do develop a wide variety of hereditary conditions such as hip and elbow dysplasia, heart conditions, disorders related to the eyes and cancer. In Singapore’s weather, she tends to develop hotspots as well. To keep her in the best of health, we try to provide her with a healthy and balanced diet, supplements for her joints, fur coat and skin. We also manage her hotspots with topical ointments.

Q: What were your consideration / buying process like when shopping around for a pet insurance?

While scouting for the most appropriate pet insurance for Lexye, I wanted to ensure that it was a policy that was not just comprehensive but also suitable for her active lifestyle and possible hereditary illness.

Q: What eventually made you decide to get insured with Aon Happy Tail?

At Aon Happy Tails, the policy was comprehensive as it includes medical, surgical, emergency and even alternative treatments. What stood out for me was the well-rounded cancer related coverage that was not offered elsewhere at the point of my purchase. The application process was also relatively fuss-free.

How is the entire buying process like? How long did the entire process took?

The application process was also relatively fuss-free. It only involved a vet visit and completing an online form before the coverage begins. If there are any queries, the staff are also accommodative and quick to respond.

Has anything changed (mentally) after getting your pet insured?

Having a good insurance coverage gives me reassurances that my pet’s medical treatment will not be compromised because of the vet bills.

Why do you think people are not ready to commit to a pet insurance?

There may be a lack of awareness and also knowledge regarding pet’s health, hereditary and development trajectories. It may also be daunting to consider a situation where your pet may not be as healthy as they were when they are younger.

Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?

While making an informed decision on which pet insurance is suitable for your furbaby, it is crucial to not wait till a health concern comes up before deciding.
