Meet Ben and his paw-mily!

Hello! I’m Shirley and my furkid is Ben. My husband and I have just moved into our own home when we chanced upon Ben’s adoption post. We paid him a visit and he was so sad looking! He looked like he had given up on life and right there and then, both of us just wanted to do all we can to protect him.

We learned from the rescuer that Ben was probably
an abandoned cat as he suddenly appeared in the neighbourhood. He lived for some weeks as a community cat. However, he was timid, shy and was getting bullied by the other community cats.

Thankfully, he was rescued off the streets and we were lucky enough to be chosen as adopters. Ben has now blossomed into a sweet, floofy, tam chiak cat who runs the house and has brought us so much joy.

Q: How do you care for the wellness of your pet, especially if they are prone to any hereditary illness?

As we do not know much about Ben’s background, we take all the precautions we can by ensuring that he goes for his regular vet check ups, all his vaccinations are up to date and he takes Furment Complete to maintain his immune system.

Q: What were your consideration / buying process like when shopping around for a pet insurance?

When selecting pet insurance, we focused on coverage, cost-effectiveness, and the simplicity of the claims process.

Q: What eventually made you decide to get insured with Aon Happy Tail?

We chose Aon Happy Tail for our pet insurance because it was the first to offer coverage for cats residing in HDBs, unlike other policies limited to condo dwellers. It was an obvious choice for us.

Q: How is the entire buying process like? How long did the entire process took?

The purchasing process was straightforward and quick. We filled out the form online and submitted the health checkup form as soon as it was ready.

Q: Has anything changed (mentally) after getting your pet insured?

Gaining insurance for Ben has brought us peace of mind. Given the high cost of veterinary care and Ben getting older, we feel relieved to be financially prepared for any unexpected medical situations.

Q: Why do you think people are not ready to commit to a pet insurance?

Many people perceive pet insurance as an extra, unnecessary cost, especially when their pets are young and healthy, not considering the unpredictability of the future. It’s wise to be proactive, just as we insure ourselves (humans) and loved ones. Pets are family too. Additionally, cat owners might not realize that cats living in HDBs can be insured too.

Q: Any suggestion or advice to people who are still shopping around or considering pet insurance?

Go for it! If you’re insured, your furkid deserves the same protection.

Veterinary expenses can rival human medical costs, and having insurance can alleviate financial stress. With insurance, you won’t have to fret about affording your pet’s care during emergencies.
